Eva-Lynne Leibman

I've known Eva-Lynne for more years than either one of us will ever admit to. She and Hiroko Nogami-Rosen own Dayenu, a wonderful store that carries all kinds of Judaica. The store is located in the San Francisco Jewish Community Center.
Before Dayenu, Eva-Lynne was known for her wonderful challot. Everyone raves about them. If you were lucky enough and you bid high enough you could win one of them at a Brandeis Hillel auction.
I asked Eva-Lynne to select some of her favorites. Here they are with some comments:

My first shape outside of the braid.
Thanksgiving celebration with my daughter’s 4th grade class. I wanted it easily breakable into equal pieces, so there were at least the number of kernels as there were children and teachers in the grade.

First created for the brit milah of my nephew in Toronto. Now a regular for baby showers as
well.

A family tradition at Shabbat Chanukkah and any Chanukkah party. Sweetened with candy sprinkles.

Though this one always gets snickers when unveiled, it is fun for Sukkot.

A bit of a change from the usual round for this holiday.

Another Rosh Hashana challah.

For a Bar Mitzvah, the tree of life with the young man’s name below.

Helen began making challah early. Here she is with one of her first.
